Affiliate programs (also called commission programs, revenue sharing programs, or associate programs) are commission-based programs in which you are paid to put advertisements (usually banners) on your webpages. Depending on your contract, you may be paid by:
- The number of people viewing the advertisements on your webpage (pay per impression)
- The visitor clicking on the ad link (pay per click)
- The visitor supplying contact information (pay per lead), or
- The visitor actually purchases something (pay per sale, or sale commission).
